For a unique ‘eco-experience’ visit our Sanctuary bird park for a day of happy, healthy, outdoor fun for the whole family. Owls, hawks, falcons and eagles from the smallest to the biggest, from common to rare, ordinary to exceptional we have them all! As you wander amongst their micro-environment enclosures and learn their life stories will not fail to touch your heart.

ONSITE ACTIVITIES & FACILITIES:
Flying Displays : Our awesome aerial predators can be seen in action during these interactive, free-flying shows which are conducted daily from an open-air amphitheatre. Come to learn more and experience for yourself the determined dash of a goshawk, the stealth of a shy owl, or the phenomenal speed of a diving falcon. These flying shows take place at 10h30. Vulture Feeding Sessions take place on weekends and public holidays @ 12h30. To see the gobbly, squabbly clean-up crew in action, meet at the vulture hide for an experience not to be missed.
Playground – While mom shops, the kids can burn off their extra energy on the jungle gym or spend a happy 10 minutes feeding the rabbits and the guinea pigs. “Bunny chow” is available at reception.
Birthday Parties – Do you want to celebrate your special day with us? We would love to have you, but please phone ahead so that we can assist you with the planning.
Wheelchair Friendly Facilities We have disabled ablutions and entrance ramps, but the areas between the enclosures are lawned and not paved. Please respect the disabled parking bay directly outside the main entrance.
The Kestrel Café provides a simple selection of toasted sandwiches and of course, tea, coffee and cream scones to keep the wolf at bay. Formal caterers are available for corporate functions and events. If you would prefer to bring your own food there are picnic tables are available.
Africa Trading Curio Shop has African artwork from all over the continent. Here traveling tradesman display their wares which are perfect for take-home momentos. The shop, showing a definite bird of prey influence, provides a good selection of items for both local and foreign guests at competitive prices.
Nature Trail – Sanctuary guests can walk a self-guided bush trail. This bush-veld amble takes about 40 minutes, has lovely valley views and is suitable for the whole family. An awesome selection of bush birds will serenade your passage and if you are lucky you will spot a wildebeest, antelope or zebra!
Safe Parking – There is plentiful free parking available including bus access for tour and school groups. The public access road is tarred up to the gate and the driveway is hardened, and accessible for all vehicles.
The African Bird of Prey Sanctuary is a privately funded conservation initiative and all entrance charges go towards the upkeep and care of the raptors that make the Sanctuary their home.
